About Summa Systems

Why Summa Exists

As a winemaker in Napa Valley, I spoke with an engineer about installing solar at our facility. He told me, "don't solarize your inefficiencies."

That sent me on an energy efficiency journey, starting with an audit from our local utility. What came back was averaged numbers, industry benchmarks, and recommendations for costly capital projects I had no way to evaluate. When I found Eniscope, I understood what had been missing: continuous monitoring, equipment-level visibility, in real time, on data that was actually ours.

Energy efficiency that makes good business sense, backed by data from your own equipment.

Who You're Working With

Summa Systems is a Wisconsin-based energy management company providing continuous energy monitoring to commercial and industrial operations. I founded it to serve manufacturers, food and beverage operations, multi-site businesses, and commercial properties across Wisconsin. I also work with wineries and agricultural operations in Napa and Sonoma.

I'm a Certified Energy Manager (CEM) through the Association of Energy Engineers. Before Summa, I spent 18 years running operations at a Napa Valley winery: refrigeration, pumps, compressed air, process scheduling, sanitation. The same systems that run your facility ran mine.

Summa is a licensed solution partner for Eniscope, an end-to-end energy management platform from Best Energy in the UK. Eniscope combines submetering hardware, cloud-based analytics software, and Virtual Energy Management support. Best Energy supports installations in over 70 countries, with technical and data analytics resources we draw on for every client.
