The Problem

Wisconsin commercial electricity rates are among the highest in the Midwest, and regulators have already approved the next round of increases. We Energies rates are rising 12.4% across 2025 and 2026. WPS rates are rising 11.5% over the same period.

Energy waste in most facilities is out of sight, out of mind. The bill arrives as a lump sum. One number for an entire month. There is no clear way to know which equipment is running too hard, which system is leaking dollars, or when the waste is happening. If you saw a water leak, you'd fix it. Energy waste is harder to see, so it persists. Year after year.

And waste is only half the problem. When the compressor fails on a Friday afternoon, what does that cost? Lost production, spoiled product, emergency service calls. Often more than a year of wasted kilowatt-hours. Most equipment failures announce themselves in the energy data weeks before they happen. If nobody is watching that data, nobody gets the warning.

What Continuous Monitoring Does for You

Reduce energy costs

See where energy is being wasted, often where no one suspects. Identify what drives your highest costs and your peak demand. Wisconsin's Focus on Energy program has found that active monitoring typically cuts energy use around 15% over three years.

Avoid Equipment Failures

Catch refrigeration, HVAC, pump, and motor problems before they become outages. Detect power quality issues that shorten equipment life. A failure you catch early is a maintenance ticket. A failure you catch late is a lost production day.

Justify Capital Investments

Build measurement and verification into every capital project. Qualify for utility incentive programs that require M&V documentation. Make the internal business case for upgrades with defensible numbers, not vendor claims.

"This practice is generally accepted as the most effective method to determine actual energy savings and which areas of a facility or process are most appropriate to target for efficiency improvement activities." (Source: Focus on Energy, Dairy Processing Industry Energy Best Practices Guidebook)

How to Get Started

We don't propose a solution until we understand your situation.

1. Facility Conversation

We talk through your operations, review your utility bills, and ask the questions that help us understand where the opportunities might be.

2. Energy Waste Analysis

Based on what we learn, we put together a free Energy Waste Report. An honest estimate of what your facility is likely wasting and what it costs you annually.

3. Proposal and Review

We walk through the proposal together. What gets monitored, what it costs, and what you'd realistically expect to learn and save.
